Performance & Production

This was my first Marilyn Manson gig and I got everything I expected (and more).  The House of Blues in Atlantic City is a great place to see a gig.  It's got a huge main floor for general admission and a reserved mezzanine section.  If you're on the floor, then get there early to snag a spot close to the stage.  The acoustics are pretty good throughout the venue.  Plenty of bars too, but you'll pay $13 for a rum & coke.

With much anticipation, the band hit the stage and opened with "Hey Cruel World" followed by "Disposable Teens".  They did a 13 song set (including a cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus".  "Antichrist Superstar" and "The Beautiful People" were the encore tunes.  The tunes were tight and the performance was solid.  The stage show was pretty tame (unlike the band itself).  Good light show, fog, etc.

What really made this show special were the fans and their die-hard love for the band.  The crowd sang along with every tune.  Between songs you couldn't hear yourself think because of the thunderous applause.  There were all sorts of people there, from young to old, dressed up, dressed down, etc. (check out pics here).  I'm glad Marilyn Manson is gigging again and would definitely see them again!
